Giewont is a prominent mountain massif in the Western Tatras, towering over Zakopane, with an altitude of 1,894 meters above sea level. Its distinctive shape resembles the silhouette of a sleeping knight. Its most recognizable feature is a 15-meter-high steel cross, erected on the summit in 1901, which has become an important religious and tourist symbol. As one of the most popular peaks in Poland, it attracts large numbers of tourists, offering a unique panoramic view of the city and the High Tatras.
