The funicular railway to Gubałówka is one of Zakopane’s most popular tourist attractions, connecting the city center with the Gubałówka ridge. It was built in record time, in just 168 days in 1938, and after a major renovation in 2001, it was fitted with modern carriages with glass roofs. The route, which is almost 1300 meters long, offers passengers unique panoramic views of the Tatra Mountains and Zakopane, and also serves as a key starting point for numerous hiking and skiing trails.
