Kozi Wierch (2,291 m above sea level) is the highest peak located entirely within Polish territory, situated in the High Tatras between the Valley of the Five Polish Lakes and the Gąsienicowa Valley. The Orla Perć, the most challenging hiking trail in Poland, runs along its summit, and together with its impressive cliffs, it attracts numerous experienced mountaineers and climbers. The first recorded ascent was made around 1860 by Eugeniusz Janota and Maciej Sieczka, and the mountain’s name comes from the large number of chamois that graze on its slopes. This place is famous for its unique panoramic views and rich history of mountaineering, including the pioneering winter expeditions of Mariusz Zaruski.
