Kalatówki meadow is a key location on the map of the Western Tatras, and for generations, it has served as a site for traditional sheep grazing as part of the region’s cultural pastoralism. Its history is inextricably linked to the history of Polish skiing and the construction of a distinctive mountain hotel before the international ski competitions in 1939. Among the most important attractions are the annual carpets of purple crocuses and the extensive network of hiking trails leading towards the Giewont massif. The uniqueness of the meadow is defined by the harmonious combination of the Tatra landscape with the historic accommodation infrastructure and the living pastoral traditions of the region.
