The peaks in the High Tatras are the highest point on the map of Poland and one of the most sought-after destinations for high-mountain expeditions. The first documented ascent to this border peak took place in 1840, and its name directly refers to the characteristic gullies and cracks visible on the walls of the massif. The main attraction that draws tourists is the challenging trail leading above the surface of Morskie Oko lake, offering an unparalleled panorama of the surrounding lakes and neighboring peaks. This unique place is distinguished by having three peaks, one of which is an excellent observation point in the very heart of the Tatra landscape.
