The PTTK “Murowaniec” mountain hut is an iconic accommodation facility located on Hala Gąsienicowa (1500 m above sea level), built between 1921 and 1925 using distinctive, massive granite blocks. It is one of the most important trail junctions in the High Tatras, serving as a strategic base for expeditions to, among other places, Orla Perć, Kościelec, and Świnica. This place is distinguished by its rich history and unique architecture, which, despite a major reconstruction after the fire in 1963, still retains its austere, high-mountain atmosphere.
